Account and spaces
Where do I sign in?
Use the Global Platform Hub. The product website at www.genispace.com contains product and commercial information but is not the application console.
Why can't I see a resource another user shared?
Check the active space, your space membership, the resource's access policy, and application membership. Bound data, knowledge, and tools can have additional permissions.
Who pays for collaboration-space usage?
The collaboration space owner's billing account is charged. Usage records still identify the member who initiated the request.
Agents and Chat
What is the difference between a conversational and task agent?
A conversational agent supports multi-turn interaction, tool use, confirmation, and session context. A task agent accepts structured input and returns validated structured output for APIs and workflows.
What are GeniAssistant and built-in agents?
GeniAssistant is the platform Assistant. Built-in agents are focused capabilities such as Workbench Copilot and Knowledge Copilot. They are platform-defined and are not ordinary user-editable agent records.
What is the difference between Ask and Agent mode?
Ask mode provides a direct answer without delegated platform actions. Agent mode can use authorized retrieval and tools, ask for confirmation, and complete multi-step work. Neither mode bypasses permissions.
Does the execution timeline show the model's private reasoning?
No. It shows operational progress, tool calls, arguments, evidence, results, and validation events needed to understand what the system did.
What does /compact do?
It summarizes older working context to create room for later turns. It does not delete visible chat history or long-term memory. See Context Management.
Why did the agent ask me to choose an option?
The saved turn needs missing information or confirmation. Select an option or provide a custom answer and choose Continue; the same turn resumes.
Data and knowledge
Datasource or Dataset?
Use a Datasource for controlled operations against a relational database. Use a Dataset for GeniSpace-managed records with structured, full-text, and semantic search.
Which Dataset search should an agent use?
- Exact field value or ID: structured query
- Literal term: full-text search
- Meaning, experience, or cross-language similarity: vector search
Top-K vector results are candidates, not proof that hard conditions are satisfied.
Why does vector search return nothing after records were inserted?
Check whether the intended source fields are vectorized, embedding generation succeeded, the Dataset-bound model is consistent, and filters are not excluding every record.
Why does a Dataset tool report field ... not exist?
The request included an output or filter field that is not declared by the Dataset schema. Use the schema or API Playground template.
Dataset or knowledge base?
Use a Dataset for business records; use a knowledge base for documents that should be searched and cited. They use different storage and permission contracts.
Workbench and industry solutions
Are Workbench Copilot changes saved automatically?
No. Copilot changes the current browser draft. Review the canvas and select Save; publish only after testing run mode.
Why is long component content clipped?
Fixed-height components should provide an internal scroll area. Check the configured height, padding, and whether the renderer is designed to scroll. Test desktop and mobile layouts.
Can I edit nested arrays without raw JSON?
Supported record-editing forms render arrays of objects as structured repeated sections. If a field still shows [object Object], check that the component uses structured field rendering and that its field definition matches the Dataset schema.
Can I deploy an industry solution into an existing space?
Yes, if you own the target space. Read the conflict warning and complete the second confirmation. A new space is safer when you need strict isolation.
Does an industry upgrade immediately replace the published Workbench?
No. Upgrade-safe behavior creates a reviewable draft. The current published version remains active until you publish the new draft.
Billing
Which plans are available?
Plan codes can include FREE, PERSONAL, PRO, TEAM, and ENTERPRISE, but the live Subscription page is authoritative for offered plans, prices, limits, and intervals.
Are internal embedding calls billed?
When Agent, Dataset, Worker, or another service calls embedding through the platform model gateway with a user/space context, usage is attributed to that account and space owner.
API and development
Where do I create an API key?
Open account or Console settings, then use the API key management area. Copy the key when it is shown and store it securely.
Is an SDK available?
Yes. The official JavaScript/TypeScript SDK is available at genispace/sdk-javascript.
Why does an old streaming client receive HTTP 426?
Interactive Agent streaming requires the current GeniSpace stream protocol and SDK. Upgrade the SDK and do not hand-code an obsolete SSE contract.
Deployment and support
Does GeniSpace support self-hosting?
Yes, for supported enterprise deployments. Models, domains, payment, and quota policy can be controlled by the organization.
How do I report a problem?
Include the time, edition, active space, application, request or execution ID, exact error, and safe reproduction steps. Never include passwords, API keys, or private documents.
